November 10, 2008
Effective January 1, 2010, the RIT113 Dosimetry Software will no longer support the Windows 2000 operating system on new releases.
RIT is providing more than one year’s notice in order to allow existing customers to upgrade their operating systems, and possibly their hardware, before the January 1, 2010 deadline.
There are several reasons that RIT can no longer support upgrades for Windows 2000:
- Microsoft stopped supporting this on June 28, 2005 (SP4). As of 2005, Microsoft no longer issued updates. Microsoft is discontinuing security updates for this product.
- Many of the products we rely upon to build the RIT113 product are no longer supporting Windows 2000 (e.g., MATLAB).
- RIT needs to upgrade to newer version of MATLAB and other products in order to support Windows VISTA.
Existing installations of the RIT113 software will not be affected. However, upgrades for RIT113 and new versions of the RIT113 will no longer install on Windows 2000 after January 1, 2010.
We are sorry for any inconvienence this may cause, but we wanted to provide as much notice as possible before discontinuing support for Windows 2000.
Sincerely,

Daniel M. Ritt
